Arranging an assessment
Outpatient appointments are booked through the hospital on the numbers below; international patients can ask for Michael Yu. Bring a written list of the areas that bother you, in order, and photographs from a few years ago if you have them, because they show how your shape has changed rather than only how it looks today. Say plainly whether you are considering an operation, a device course, or both, and whether your weight has been stable.
What a good assessment includes
An examination of the areas you named, with the fat between the fingers and the skin tested for how well it returns. A judgement about whether the fat is under the skin or inside the abdomen, because only the first is treatable by either route. An assessment of skin laxity, since that decides how a smaller contour is likely to look. You should leave able to say what each route would change in your case and what neither would change at all.
Asking about the plan
If an operation is proposed, ask how many areas are involved, how much is planned to come out, what compression is required and for how long, and what would be done if the contour settles unevenly. If a device course is proposed, ask how many sessions the plan expects, how far apart they are, what change is realistic for the area, and what happens if the result is smaller than you hoped. Ask what would make either route the wrong one for you.
Before you commit
No decision needs to be made at the first appointment, and neither route needs to be chosen before the examination has answered the two questions that matter: how much fat is under the skin, and whether the skin can hold a smaller contour. Take the plan away and come back with questions. An offer that expires, or pressure to book before an assessment is complete, is information about the clinic rather than about your shape.
