This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you how elastic your own skin is, how much of the fat you dislike sits under the skin rather than inside the abdomen, or whether either route is appropriate for your health and your circumstances. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a quotation, and no page here should be read as advice for an individual patient.
Neither route tightens skin, and neither is a weight-loss treatment
An operation extracts fat and a device destroys it, and neither one does anything to the skin that contained it: laxity after either route is unchanged, and removing fat from skin that has already stretched can make it look more pronounced rather than less. Neither route is a treatment for losing weight or for the health problems associated with excess weight; both change the shape of an area while leaving body weight largely where it was. Where weight is still changing, a weight plan comes first.
No outcome is promised
No treatment can be promised to produce a particular result. How much fat is removed, how a contour settles, how long numbness lasts and how the skin behaves afterwards vary between individuals, and the result is judged only once swelling has settled rather than in the first weeks. A clinic that offers a specific promised outcome before an examination is offering something no examination can support, and a patient who is shown someone else’s photograph as evidence of their own future result is being shown the wrong person.
Clots and other emergencies
A clot in the leg or the lung is a medical emergency. After any operation, a swollen and painful calf, sudden shortness of breath or chest pain requires emergency care immediately rather than an appointment later in the week. So does fever with spreading redness or warmth around a wound, bleeding that does not stop with gentle pressure, a wound that opens, and pain that is worsening rather than settling. Emergency care comes before any call to a clinic.
